Notice for OCI registration
Date for conversion of PIO card to OCI card has been extended up to 30th June, 2017.
The Government of India has decided to launch the scheme for Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) with effect from 14 November 2005. The online application form can be filled and downloaded from: https://passport.gov.in/oci/welcome
Forms duly completed, along with a Bank Draft/Banker’s Cheque of US$ 283/- (US$275+5+3) in favour of Embassy of India, Paramaribo, Suriname per application can be submitted to this embassy for being forwarded to the concerned authorities in India for granting of the OCI Card. Those who are already holding PIO Cards can apply free of cost. Those who do not possess PIO card have to produce his/her Indian origin proof or CBB certificate for up to forth generation.
This is to bring to the notice of the public that Government of India has introduced additional consular fee of US$ 3.00 for each passport/visa/OCI/PIO/Attestation/Misc. Consular Services application as contribution towards Indian Community Welfare Fund. The charges are effective from May 14, 2010.
Applicants are advised to add US$ 3.00 to the cheques /drafts for fee drawn in favour of Embassy of India, Paramaribo.
